Australia supports Cambodia’s future leaders in sustainable finance

As Cambodia’s economy and capital market continues to grow, investing in the next generation of leaders is more important than ever.

Australia is supporting the National ESG Challenge 2026, led by the Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC), to help university students deepen their understanding of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles and sustainable finance.

The competition brings together students from six universities across Phnom Penh, giving them the opportunity to apply ASEAN ESG standards to real-world sustainability challenges. The winning Cambodian team will represent the Kingdom at the ASEAN ESG Challenge Grand Finale in the Philippines alongside students from across the region.

By promoting sustainable finance and responsible business practices, Australia is helping equip young Cambodians with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to a more resilient and sustainable economic future.
