The global energy crisis has increased the cost of imported synthetic or chemical fertiliser in Cambodia by up to 30 per cent, causing significant pressure on Cambodian farmers, especially as rice-planting season begins.
Australia is partnering with Husk Ventures, a Kampong Thom-based biochar producer, to produce affordable biofertilisers from local raw materials. This partnership is improving production, distribution networks and farmers’ understanding of the importance of soil health.
Our support is improving food security, rural livelihoods and long-term climate resilience in Cambodia. We are invested in promoting a more productive, sustainable and resilient agricultural sector.
