Australia is supporting Cambodian farmers during a difficult period of rising cost of fertiliser and other agricultural inputs.
We are working with businesses to produce more biofertilisers in Cambodia so that farmers can reduce their reliance on imports. Our partners such as Husk Ventures will double current biochar production capacity, with an expected 1,000 metric tonnes supplied this year.
We are also drawing on Australian innovation through our partner Nileda, using wild carp-based biostimulants to improve soil health and help farmers be more resilient to future shocks.
Through these efforts, Australia is contributing to food security and helping businesses to continue their operations. We are also protecting farmers’ livelihoods and helping them become more resilient to future shocks.
