Australia empowers female water engineer to achieve Cambodia’s water supply goals

Australia is supporting the Center for Sustainable Water to train the next generation of water engineers through the Youth Leadership in Clean Water Supply Action program.

Meet Ms Yos Chantharoth, a recent graduate and water engineer who is passionate about improving Cambodia's clean piped water access.

She is one of 10 water engineers participating in the Youth Leadership in Clean Water Supply Action program. The program prepares young water engineers for employment and helps foster their commitment to addressing water issues within their own communities.

Through an intensive training program and field visits, Ms Tharoth has improved her leadership skills and knowledge of clean water supply. She is now interning at the Bek Chan water supply station in Kandal province to gain practical experience in clean water supply operation. There she conducts laboratory testing of water samples and assesses water infrastructure systems to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality water to surrounding communities.
