Australia harnesses solar power to lower energy costs for piped water

Rising and volatile energy costs are making it harder for private water operators to maintain services and expand water supply to more rural villages in Cambodia.

Australia is supporting up to 40 private water operators to install a combined 2,200 kW of solar power capacity in rural and remote areas, improving energy efficiency, energy security and operational resilience.

Watch Kheav Thida, CEO of SOGE Cambodia, explain how this initiative can reduce operating expenses and generate savings that can be reinvested to expand services and reach more underserved communities.
