Australia boosts Cambodia’s cashew processing capacities

Australia boosts Cambodia’s cashew processing capacities

Australia is committed to working with Cambodian agri-businesses to build their capacity, attract investment and grow stronger, more sustainable agri-food sector.

Cambodia is the world’s second-largest producer of raw cashew nuts, but less than 10 per cent of the harvest is processed locally.

Australia is partnering with two cashew processors to support drying yards, grading machines and storage facilities, and supporting post-harvest training for cashew farmers. This will create around 100 new jobs and increase or stabilise incomes for up to 1000 households in Kampong Thom and Preah Vihear.
